Because of the generous
support of our members, Canyon Movement Company has
taken tremendous strides in producing and promoting
dance in our community. We received a second
American Masterpiece Grant to make dances in
collaboration with Shonto Begay, as well as our
first one where we created a program about the
Quilts of Gee's Bend, a Flagstaff Community
Foundation award for our community events, and
ongoing support for our "Nutcracker Suite in Modern
Bare Feet." We
have several teaching
residencies throughout the year and teach at a home
for battered women and children. We traveled to
Italy in 2004 and did a trans-national project with
Myriad Dance from Ireland in 2005-2006. THANK YOU to our supporters. We must keep up the support in order to keep moving forward and bringing great dance to northern Arizona. Our membership base demonstrates to corporate and municipal donors that our local community supports us.
